Just purchased this item at a local church thrift store for $1.50. I love it! It is so much better than my cardboard box stuffed to the top and held together with rubber bands. I wish the book was in a 3 ring format to add more pages but the pockets are nice and roomy and large enough to hold everything.
A Great Organiser for Cook Lovers
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
This notebook is exactly what the title says it is: a fantastic organiser for recipes! It begins by giving you hints on how to organise your kitchen. It has food divisions between the recipe pages with special pockets where you can insert any recipe cuttings from magazines. Each food devision is prefaced by several recipes, cooking secrets and hints by the author. We are given special recipe pages to fill in with our own recipes. Because it is a spiral book (albeit with a protective hardcover) the fill-in pages are plastic (dossier) pages with the paper inside. So you have to take the special recipe paper out, fill in your recipe info and then put it back in. This is good because the pages are protected from accidental spills or tear and wear. The inside of the back-cover has useful "Weights and Measures" tables. Perhaps the only drawback in this otherwise clever conception is the limited number of pages and the fact that you cannot add more to it (It allowes for 8 recipes per devision and there are 6 devisions in all). But I guess the pockets it provides serve for puting in them any extra recipes. All together it is a beautiful notebook, nicely illustrated. It would make a treasured compilation for those extra-special recipes you'd like to record for your family.
