At her best

This book is in the Top 10 most favorite Danielle Steel books, for me. I loved it, I loved everything about it. I enjoyed the characters, but what I loved most of all was the twist I didn't see coming. And a happy ending, who could ask for more? This is a classic D. Steel book, pick it up & read it!

The Promise Pays Off

Most of Danielle Steel's books are schlocky and clumsily written. However, I read them anyway. I read this book over 25 years ago and loved it. It was my first ever romance novel, and I read it from cover to cover in one night. Since then, I've read hundreds of romances, and I can accuse Steel of creating my romance addiction. Her earlier longer length books are much better than the novellas she dashes off now. Along with The Promise, I recommend Palomino, Thurston House, The Ring, and Family Album. Other romance writers that I think are ten times better are: Amanda Quick (AKA Jayne Ann Krentz), Susan Elizabeth Phillips, LaVyrle Spencer, Katherine Sutcliffe, Sandra Brown, Laura Kinsale, Jill Marie Landis, Judith McNaught, Fern Michaels, etc.

One of Her Best

I am a DS fan and have read all of her novels. The Promise is one of her best works ever. You will walk with the characters through their darkest hours and will get to know them personally. A quick read and wonderful for a day at the beach or mountains.

If you read ONE Danielle Steel book... Read this one!

I've been skeptical of Danielle Steel all my reading life. After all, she seems to release new books like how some people dish out business cards! I didn't pick up this book until a friend ranted and raved about it. Well, this book made me a fan. My first DS book and she won me over. This book just got me by the heart and clamped on it. Wow, this is a wonderful book and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially anyone who's weary of Daniel Steel. I love the story of Nancy and Michael from page 1 and I was glued to the pages till the very end. And I loved the ending, tears just sprung up and rolled down my cheeks. I read the ending 5 times and wished it didn't end. This is a truly a masterpiece.Julianne

best book i have ever read by far

This was the second book of Danielle Steel's I have ever read and it is so upliftind and gives so much hope when all seems hopeless. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. It's one of those books where when you finish it, you just want to cry and start cheering at the same time for the characters because all turned out well in the end. Danielle Steel is definately an extremely talented author.
