A Wake Up Call

I read mostly historical fiction, political fiction and spy novels. This book satisfied all three, and was a bit scary in it's premise. I only wish that everyone in the country could read this riveting novel before the upcoming elections. Many of us take our freedom for granted, and some day may find ourselves without it. This book is a wake up call!

Simply Amazing!

I watch politics closely and in this post 9/11 era we run a risk in removing rights and personal liberties just for the sake of "safety". This book presents a chilling scenario in which a group of Yale graduates form a secret society to try and bring about a "New World Order" in which liberty will be sacrificed for the elimination of war in a new global government. I've read other political thrillers such as Deception Point by Dan Brown, but no other thriller captures the current fears of out nation quite as well as The Plot does. This book will change your view the United States current political actions and needs to be read by everyone! Highly reccommended!

The finest political thriller of the season

Open to the first page of Kathleen Lamarche's award-winning, debut novel, "The Plot," and immediately the deft hand of the author reaches out, grabs you by the throat-and the heart-and pulls you in. From there Ms. Lamarche takes you on a wild ride of grand scale, detailing high political intrigue and edge-of-your-seat suspense. It is not a new theme. Writers from Homer to Shakespeare to Sinclair Lewis and George Orwell have tackled the overthrow of the state with varying degrees of success. But, there are three qualities that place "The Plot" a cut above. First, the story is plausible; more than plausible, it is convincing. With all due respect to Mr. Lewis, the skill with which Ms. Lamarche executes her plot will convince you that, yes, it can happen here. The second quality is one of vision. Ms. Lamarche has sent us a warning, and whether by accident or design, her message is most timely and worth heeding. It is this: In our post- 9/11, ultra-security conscious environment, powerful people, whether well-intentioned or not, can change the course on which the founding fathers set this nation in ways we may dearly regret for years to come.Third and finally, plausibility and vision aside, this book will touch you on a human level; you can't help but care for, and fervently cheer for, the heroes, Cassie Hart and Max Henshaw, as you ardently pray for the downfall of the villain.Debut novel? You wouldn't know it. Buy The Plot-you won't regret it.

Don't Miss This Excellent Book

A provocative, yet disquieting tale of American politics, The Plot is an incredible journey into the heart of a sinister inner circle of power. Ms. Lamarche weaves a captivating story that begs you to not put it down. A definite must read.
