The Lost Ball

Lost Ball is a really terrific book and I have enjoyed sharing it with my son. He's in grammar school and just learning Spanish and just learning about ball games. This book does a great job in helping with both learning Spanish and about the ball games. He likes it. I like it. He's a boy and I'm a girl, so I guess it also appeals to both sexes. Bravo to Reiser!!! She's a great author and a great illustrator.

Sports, Boys and Dogs

What a great combnation--sports, boys and dogs. It's a book that I can read and enjoy with my boys. The pictures of the sports seem to be accurate and even I like learning the names of the balls in two languages. We like to look at all that's happening and what has changed in the interval between when the first boy passes a field and the second one comes looking for the owner of the ball. I wish there were more books like this one. Reiser is one of our favorite authors and illustrators.

Two Languages and twice the fun

This is a wonderful book for learning Spanish and English. It is very applicable to young readers as the park a place they know and the names of the balls can be practiced on any vsit. The book cleverly has the two boys circling the park in different drections so the words learned are repeated and renforced. The color coding makes clear who is saying what . In the end, not only are the balls found, but each boy and each dog has a new friend and a liittle of a new language. The details of the pctures of the sports add depth to the readng experence by provdng lots to see and talk about. A wonderful book. My chldren love it..
