UK Version of Adams' Iron Wolf

This is a nice compilation of stories by Richard Adams. I ordered both this title and "The Iron Wolf" by Mr. Adams only to find that they're both the same book. I suspect the "Unbroken Web" was the UK title for marketing reasons--the title "Iron Wolf" probably had more appeal in the US.

Great folktales for every audience

Richard Adams presents folk tales to the reader in a clever way.Ths book is hard to find in good condition, but if you can get a hold of one, I highly recommend purchasing it!It is called 'The Unbroken Web and 'The Iron Wolf and other stories'. I am a fan of Richard Adam's work, and so I treasure this book like I do all of his.The illustrations are unique and wonderful. The introduction is beautiful and changes the way I percieve stories. The first story 'Cat in the Sea' is great! It explains why cats hate water. This book also includes 'The Legend of te Tuna' which is also called 'The giant eel'.

A beautiful book!

Richard Adams unique collection of fables is intriguing and thought-provoking...to see ourselves and others in each is a rewarding challenge -- well worth the effort! Also, I must mention that the illustrations in this book are absolutely exquisite -- something the previous reviewer made no mention -- a rarity in this day and age of simple graphics and line drawings.

A real Adams

This Book is not a story, but a collection of some interesting and little-known fairy tales. Some of them are good, some of them not so, but in general, this is a very good book and worth reading. As you can see, it is out of print in English, but it is still available in German (Der Eiserne Wolf: phantastische Märchen).

Delightful collection of tales

I count myself lucky to own this book- sad to see that this (and Shardik!!) are hard to find. Beautiful illustrations, and writing that will draw you in. As I recall, this is not really for young children (but then, I don't think watership down was for young children either). If you find it, pick it up.
