Another good tale, well told

While mass-market genre paperbacks can be expected to contain some quotient of formula, readers can count on Bill Brooks to deliver a good solid western, with a few genuinely fine passages to savor along the way. "The Horses" ties up the Jim Glass series quite well, while presenting a fresh, not-too-predictable storyline. The only quibble might be the somewhat abrupt climax, which seems to characterize the two most recent series. A good read (which should never be considered a dubious compliment).
