A Valuable Resource for Singles!!!

Whether you are a divorcee or a widow(er), between the ages of 25 to 55, or older, this book is for you, as you seek to keep you and your children on a firm financial foundation.Larry Burkett, one of the best financial counselors in the business, speaks about what he has seen on the faces and in the checkbooks of hundreds of people in nearly 20 years of financial counseling, and now he consolidates those years in this practical book. There is sound, biblically-based advice on such topics as: Developing a budget (they do work, you now, unless you don't work them); facing the job market; understanding alimony and child support; buying the right car or home; and dealing with wills, trusts, and insurance. If biblical counsel is not your cup of tea, then maybe you should find another resource. If you are a Christian, and you still don't think you need biblical counsel in finances, I would encourage you to think again. There are so many couples and singles who have never been taught anything about financial wisdom or how to apply the biblical principles and laws towards their pocketbooks.A wonderful resource, as stated earlier, and highly recommended!!

The Financial Guide for the Single Parent

Finally, a financial advice book that addresses the specific financial concerns of the single parent! And with all the biblically-founded financial wisdom that Larry Burkett is famous for. This book is full of strategies on how to stretch your money, and includes specific guidelines for setting up a budget. My finances are still a mess, but with the help of this book, I'm straightening it out. I only wish I had it several years ago. The only negative thing that I noticed is that it didn't seem (to me) to adequately address the expense of child care, which is probably the biggest concern of the single parent. But it is well worth the money, I'm getting a lot of use out of it.
