Great Story!

This book has a great twists and tells the story of this mans life through a journal.

Clever Disguise

The Editor is filled with lusty details, psycho-analysis, and dives right into the mind of Sam Adams, the narrative and "editor". Told in first person and written as one would write a journal, the story starts off slowly, giving the autobiography of the narrator. But it moves into another plot, as the story unfolds. The past is mixed with and affects the present. The editor/narrator jerks the reader along, painting one picture after another, one story after another. We get to understand his mind, his experiences, the pain he's suffered. But is that pain handed to him by the gods or is it self-inflicted. Do we have an objective account, the truth, or does he know that someone else is reading his diary? Should we really feel sorry for him, or mutter "tisk, tisk" at the game he is playing in his mind....and with you? Of course, this book is by Thomas William Simpson. And, just like his other books, he keeps us guessing to the end. This is another book well written by Mr. Simpson.

A fresh voice tells a great story

Book editor Sam Adams loved his wife Ellen and their son Ricky. However, tragedy struck on Easter Sunday when a lunatic killed both of his beloved family members. Although the killer received two life sentences, Sam wished for the death penalty. He begins keeping a journal in which he places entries almost every day. Still, Sam is unable to remain in the home he shared with Ellen and Ricky because he finds too many memories in every corner. To relieve his nightmares, on the spur of the moment Sam rents a cottage from a complete stranger Roger Richmond.Roger's mother Evelyn, a blind cellist of some note, lives in the nearby main house. Evelyn seems to enjoy flirting with Sam and soon he buries his grieving as he finds himself attracted to his landlady. Their relationship forges weird bond forms between them that helps Sam forget his grieving. Is it love or lust between two wounded souls and what path will it ultimately take?THE EDITOR is a cleverly disguised suspense tale filled with twists and turns that will completely fool the audience. The story line is crisp as the reader learns what is going on through Sam's journal. Anyone who wants a taut psychological thriller will enjoy Thomas William Simpson's mindbending twister that is never solved until the climax.Harriet Klausner
