The Drowned Book

The book was beautifully put together and well thought out. Good for those who have little or a lot of Rumi knowledge. A great many of the quotes will stick with you long after you've read the book. Very re-readable, reasonably priced and unforgettable.

Watered down Rumi ? I think Not....

If you were, like me, introduced to the works of Rumi, through Coleman Barks, your desire/or otherwise in relation to purchasing of this book should be based on your previous reaction to those translations. This book is poetry but perhaps not in the formulaic sense that is usually bound to that term, it's many reflections provide provocatively simple insights into the human condition from a visionary father of a visionary. Perhaps not one for the best seller list but one to be included in your personal libary if you enjoy spiritual literature.

Coleman Barks does it again!

As always, Coleman Barks gives us a beautifully inspirational book to wake up to, travel with or turn to when we forget how wonderful God is. If you love his books on Rumi you will love this one too.

excellent and essential supplement...

great to just pick up and randomly read. the notes in the back, as with all coleman barks' notes, get to the crux of the matter in the usual serpentine, raconteuring way...recommended!
