Astonishing!

I'm still only 2/3rds through this book, but feel the need to post a review here nonetheless, having just listed it on my blog site as a recommended read. I'm hardly a scholar of the Bible, but I'm very interested in medieval history, and the early days of the Christian church from a historical perspective, and the author has researched and revealed some stunning facts about that period. He has an extraordinary theory concerning Jesus and the Shroud, and it seems well-reasoned and believable. If nothing else, reading this book will spin you off into further studies of, and inquiries into, for example, the Knights Templar, Egyptology, medieval science, Arabianism, Judaic studies, and more. I heartily recommend it, and most especially to anyone intrigued by "The DaVinci Code".
