Demon of Wrath vs Angel

So far this book is by far my favorite in the Lords of the Underworld series. I laughed, I cried, and enjoyed every minute of it. Aeron and demon of Wrath both hold the same body. Wrath loves to kill and destroy. Aeron loves to kill everyone and anyone who has every caused grief; murderers, rapists, etc.... And stays away from weak humans. He wants nothing to do with females either and thinks to continue. Then a fallen angel crawls into Aeron's life. Yes, she's fallen from Heaven because she wouldn't kill Aeron....

Wrath meets fallen Angel

Joy bringer angel Olivia has been hanging around the Lords of the Underworld at their fortress. She liked to particularly watch Aeron, keeper of Wrath. When Olivia receives a promotion to a warrior angel she is reluctant. Her first kill is Aeron; she is unable to do so, choosing to fall instead of killing him. Once she reaches Aeron Wrath is strangely soothed, that never happens. Aeron tries to push her away afraid to feel, despite doing so, then enters Legion. Legion is Aeron's surrogate demon daughter, only she believes she is his mate. So sure of herself she makes a deal with the Lucifer thus endangering everyone. Meanwhile Galen, leader of the hunters, is up to his conniving ways threatening the lives of the Lords. How will this end...?? Surprised me, but it was good. Very intriguing! I really like all the Lords and thier mates. Smart, funny they feel like old friends. The only thing is I wished I would have read the darkest angel (anthology), to have learned more of Lyssander and Bianka. I can't wait to read the Darkest Lie! It would take a lot of work to say the opposite of what you mean for Gideon keeper of Lies. This book was fast paced, interesting and well worth the wait!

Never disappoints!

I read this in less than 24 hours! Showalter's books are a great mix of romance and fantasy. The Lords of the Underworld is a wonderfully woven mythology. This one made me cry at the end. You also get peaks into what could be future story lines. I eagerly await Gideon's tale. Paris's possibilties also are mentioned. What about Galen and Legion? That was interesting. This one is well worth your time. Just try not to loose too much sleep when you can't put it down!

Angels

I just love Gena Showalter, her writing gets me. I don't like to read about angels and romance it is something I rather not think about. So I was a little hesitant about reading this installment, but Gena wrote this book really well I enjoyed it to the very end. She blended Heaven, Hell and gods together nicley I like the direction she took the book. Everytime I see a book with her name on it I grab it. You will not be disappointed Aeron had a fitting love story. From the begining Gena wrote about him I think everyone could not wait for her to tell his love story.

best one yet

I have just eaten up this book. It was a long wait but worth it. Again this book creates more questions about the faiths of the lords and their search for pandoras box. Aeron is the subject of this book. If you have not read previous books its a hard book to follow since much of Aeron pass is in previous books. Olivia is an angel that has been sent to kill Aeron but she cant. So now Olivia is a fallen angel and she must adjust to her new life. She thinks she is meant for Aeron ... but he does not agree. Olivia must also compete with Legion for Aeron affect... This book is great many of the other lords are in this book and we even get a brief update on Ashelyn and Maddox baby

Review from the book review blog, Book Faery

Aeron, the keeper of Wrath, scorns the idea of love. Why would he, of all people, ever need to be taken care of? Better yet, is there anyone he could allow close to him that Wrath wouldn't want to punish for their sins? The answer comes in the form of beautiful Olivia, a fallen angel who has sacrificed everything to be with a man who infatuates her. Yet all is not right. Aeron resists Oliva's advances. He neither needs an angel, nor a woman. He has Legion--his surrogate daughter--the only being able to calm Wrath's bloodlust.... Or is she? I haven't laughed this hard while reading a book in ages. Olivia is by far my favorite of all of Gena's female characters, with Anya and Gwen coming in a close second. This fallen angel was hilarious, awkward, cute, sexy, assertive, stubborn, and so sweet that I wish she was real so I could meet her to give her a hug. She was not a weak character, by any means. If anything, I would deem her admirable--a role model of some sorts. If more women were confident like Olivia, the world would be a better place. Aeron, in comparison, is such a tortured and abused character in Gena's world. I admired his persona, especially in The Darkest Pleasure, for his ability to resist orders for as long as he did. Despite Wrath gnawing away at his sanity, Aeron held on until the very end. His stubborn streak in The Darkest Passion, and the mini-war with Wrath over accepting Olivia, had me in hysterics. The dialogue betwixt warriors and their demons definitely is one of my favorite aspects of this series. Gena's writing has indeed improved since Maddox's tale, and her humor has far exceeded my expectations. One of the highlights of reading anything by Gena is her ability to make make me smile, despite what may or may not be going on in my life. She expertly weaves tale after tale, enticing me to forget everything else and become absorbed with the characters and the plot. I feel as if with each book I read, the characters become more and more real, The Darkest Passion no exception to this. In fact, I would not be surprised if, at some point, Aeron and Olivia simply walked out of my computer screen while I was reading. The twist at the end of this book made my jaw drop. I literally had to scroll back up and re-read the whole scene, due to the suspicion that I forgot how to read in general. Either that, or I thought I was losing my mind and imagining it all. Wow. Just wow. Although I have read this online, I will not hesitate to purchase Gena's fifth installment. In fact, I already pre-ordered it! Unsure of whether or not to purchase this book or series? Well, you shouldn't be! If you're looking for a paranormal romance with a great plot, three dimensional characters, and sizzling bedroom scenes, then Aeron and Olivia's story is the one for you. And as a side note, I am now officially depressed due to the fact that Strider's book doesn't come out until July 2011. I can't last a whole year...!
