jesus' toilet and toothbrush

This is an excellent children's book on daily life as people in Jesus' day might have lived it. It's very informative, well organized, with good illustrations. One of my obsessions is collecting books on life in Biblical times. I've lost count but have well over thirty. Absolutely none of them answer some of the basic questions children often ask concerning Jesus' daily life: how did he and his family handle toilet issues? As well, did they use soap when washing, how often did they bathe, did they floss or brush their teeth? This is the only book that even tries to address those subjects, vital to any kid with an imagination. (In fact, these are among the most frequent questions when children talk to astronauts). I've talked to archeologists about this, and they don't give very satisfactory answers. Neither does the author of this book, but at least he tries. He seems to say Jesus' family emptied their chamber pots into nearby gutters. And that Jesus bathed in a public bath (which doesn't sound correct to me). And most shockingly, that Jesus neither flossed nor brushed (even with a fuzzy twig), but merely disguised his bad unbrushed breath with such herbs as scented pepper or aniseed. I'm so glad I accidentally found this book, which is now out-of-print.
