One of my favorite authors

This book contains 3 stories each set in the same area of Pennsylvania. Each story was well written with realistic characters. Wanda wrote the first one, her daughter in law the second one, and her granddaughter the third. All three Brunstetters are skillful story tellers. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Amish fiction. I received copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.

Three Stories Of Romance From The Big Valley Of Pennsylvania

The Brides of the Big Valley is a collection of three stories set in Mifflin County Pennsylvania, better known as The Big Valley. The Amish community in The Big Valley is very unique. The different Amish communities are known for the color of their buggies. They are known as The Yellow Toppers, The White Toppers and the Black Toppers. I found this to be very interesting, and was something new I learnt. The three unique romance stories are set in each of these communities and they are written by Wanda Brunsetter, her daughter-in-law Jean and once again, Richelle Brunsetter, has joined in contributing a story. Deanna's Determination is written by Wanda Brunsetter, and it deals with find love a second time. It also deals with learning how to overcome a disability, when one's life is changed by an accident. It is also a story of love, trust in God and faith. Rose Mary's Resolve is written by Jean Brunsetter and it deals with the younger set of Amish and their facing the challenge of either staying with the Amish way of life or leaving it. It is a story of romance, faith and trusting God. Leila's Longing is written by Richelle Brunsetter, This is the second story that Richelle has written with her grandmother and mother. Richelle made her writing debut in The Christmas Quilt. The story is about a young girl who is very shy and insecure and really has no time for a social life within the community. All three of the stories are very well written and the characters are mention else where throughout the book. At the end of each story is a recipe that is mentioned in that story. I would highly recommend reading this awesome book, written by three generations of Brunsetter women. Charming collection of Amish romance stories

The Brides of the Big Valley is a collection of three romances all set in the Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, known as the Big Valley, and is written by three generations of Brunstetters, Wanda, her daughter-in-law, Jean, and Wanda's granddaughter, Richelle. It was very interesting to read about the three different Amish groups in the Big Valley and how they interacted with individuals from each of the other congregations. Each of the main characters is challenged in her faith as she seeks to do God's will in her life in regards to love and marriage. The stories are well-written with strong, lovable characters, good dialogue, twists to the plot and a little humor amidst the romantic tension. Readers will quickly be caught up in the lives of each of the characters and their stories, hoping for things to turn out satisfactorily. Having now read two of these collections by these three women I am looking forward to reading even more from this set of authors. I received a complimentary copy of the book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions are my own.
