When the weather is bad

When the weather is bad and you are alone with your child, this book will make your life much easier. The wonderful thing is, that most of the projects don't even require much preparation and materials are found in every house.

A must have for creative play!

I own an old 1973 copy of this book. The entire thing is charmingly hand written, right down to the copyright page, which weaves all of the usually boring title information into a drawing of a little castle overlooking the sea. This book has given me countless ideas for my art classes. Making Things contains projects that range from potato stamps to bread dough sculptures to candle dipping to clothing patterns, bubble makers, stilts, love beads, emergency hammers, hack saws, whistles as well as traditional crafts like sock puppets and crayon rubbings. I can only imagine how wonderful the updated version of Making Things must be.
