Excellent Read

David Yeadon does a good job in sharing his adventures. I would say my favorite story is the pine barrons but many others are good too! Haiti come to mind as another great adventure. I hope there are more books to follow.

Great travel narrative reading

I kept looking for another book by Yeadon after this one because I enjoyed it so much. I read it about five years ago when it was more recently published. Wish I knew if Yeadon was still travelling and publishing.

The best modern travel writer I've come across.

I would like to quickly praise David Yeadon. It is a shame that this book never got the regognition it deserves. I have recently become an enthusiast reader of adventure travel. Of the 20+ books I have read in the last few years, this book is the best. Another of Yeadon's books, "Lost Worlds" is also high on my list. Yeadon's writing is inspirational and thought provoking. His journies--both inner and outer--left me craving for more. It has been a long time since I have read a book that is this entertaining and thought stimulating. I wish I could have been there with Mr. Yeadon on his journies. Of course, I feel like I already have.
