GREAT BOOK

This is a really good book to get you started on the Art of Metal Clay. I'm very impressed with its contents and thank the artist for being so detailed and sharing so much information. Because of this I feel confident to proceed with this craft. Haab includes much text and good photos explaining the process to achieve numerous results. From product info, how to make molds, texturing, kiln time and alternatives, incorporating resins and polymer clay, she covers it all and does a good job. Also keeps in mind the beginning artist and the cost factor offering suggestions to curb the expense while still achieving great results. This is a book worth its weight and a good resource to work from.

This book covers everything

Sherri has produced an excellent book that will appeal to all levels of Silver Clay users. Not limiting to one brand, I found that useful with the firing charts etc. She covers carving, setting stones, textures, rings, boxes and beads beautifully together with working with molds. I did like her taste of using other media with your PMC, i.e. Resin, Polymer, Glass together with using Gold Clay. Excellent descriptive instructions, great photos of the how to steps and completed piece. I have three Silver Clay books I recommend to my students, this is one of them ( the other two: CeCe Wire and Tim McCreight's). Well worth buying.

Inspiring refence book

I have several different books on precious metal clay and it's uses. This one, so far, is my favorite. It inspires the reader with creative ideas and has interesting projects taken from beginning to end. Although I am a beginner in this craft, I found it easy to understand and full of useful tips. I'm still looking for a comprehensive book on findings, though.

Great book to learn from

I have recently been interested in polymer clay and when I found out that there was Metal Clay I was very excited. In hopes to find out more, I recently ordered Sherri Haab book as well as Precious Metal Clay in Mixed Media, by Mary Ann Devos. Sherri's book is a much better book for me as a beginner. I'm more of a visual learner and I do better with picture steps, which this book has. Very detailed written and pictured steps that help guide me through the projects. It includes creative uses of tools that can easily be found around the house or at a local thift store. She also shows detailed ideas of how to mix different mediums together. I feel like my projects will have more of a success rate do to this book.

A winner!!

Being a PMC afficionado and owning, I think, every (!) book on it, this was STILL a very welcome addition, and rates among my favorites. The projects are VERY inspiring, and I made up a version of one within the first two weeks of owning it. Clearly written as well. You won't be disappointed!
