Jessica Stone has inherited 15 thousand acres of the Stone Creek Ranch that included the abandoned town of Makeshift. Would you believe it has a couple of 120 year old spirits in it? Jessica is determined to live in the ghost town and turn it into a youth center. Once she gets the paperworks that is. Oh yes, unbeknownst to her, her brothers have asked a friend of Jared's from the Venezuela days to keep an eye on her. This introduces Dylan Grant, who is solitary and lives like a rolling stone. Never stays put too long. Jessica considers herself safe with Hannibal, her dog and in no need of a man. Who would bother her in a ghost town? Then we meet Lucas and Meggie, the two spirits who cannot seem to leave Makeshift. This is even a more beautiful love story. They appear to be protective of Jessica. Dylan's problems begin, of course, when his attraction to Jessica becomes an obsession. He can't leave her but he must. Jessica blows a gasket when she finds out about her brother's involvment. But then again there was a fire in the Saloon - An attempt on the church - and other problems especially when Myrna shows up - she is still trying to buy some of Stone Creek property. Really a great trilogy for Desire books - captivating - excellent read. Definitely Recommended --M
