Very funny, if you want a laugh, buy it!

Pam has always cracked me up and this book is no exception. She writes little stories as well as poems with her usual wit, I especially like "Reading the map" so funny and so true about how men and women have rows in the car about the woman's map reading skills (or lack of them!) and "If I only had me glasses I'd be there" where she writes a little story about having to wear reading glasses now and never being able to find them, this is followed by the poem. I love her easy to relate to, easy to read style of poetry, full of humour and is a joy to read, I never fail to laugh when reading a Pam Ayres book! If you like Pam Ayres you'll also like "The Works" which has all your old favourites of hers in it, and another book you'll love is "The Poetry of Passion (for People with a Pulse)" which is written in the same rhyming, easy to identify with style and is mostly about love. The Poetry of Passion (for People with a Pulse) Pam Ayres: The Works: The Classic Collection

Hilarious Poems and anecdotes by Pam Ayres.

I love Pam Ayres style of poetry, it always makes me laugh and I've loved her since I 1st saw her on 'Opportunity Knocks' when I was a little girl. This book has anecdotes written in Pam's usual witty way as well as poems and is very entertaining and is written with her usual observant style about life and funny incidents that will have you laughing and agreeing with her. I especially identified with her anecdote about going to a different hairdresser (because she was away from home) and how we tend to say "oh its very nice, thanks very much" when really we hate it! I also loved the Global Warming poem and the anecdote about shopping on the internet. She has inspired me so much and I love her books.
