Amazing!!

I absolutely love Billy Graham and I jumped at the opportunity to review his lastest book "Storm Warning". My husband and I both read it and loved it. Basically it is a recap of the current events that are plaguing the world right now. He goes on to say that the storm clouds are the darkest he has ever seen them in his lifetime. (He is 91 years old by the way.) This book is amazing for anyone who keeps up with current events and ties them in with the Bible. The Bible was written over 2,000 years ago and all its predictions are starting to come true! Everyone should read this book. It is a wake up call for the world. Lift your arms up and know that Jesus is coming soon! Amen! --- Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers for my honest review. I received no compensation; only the book.

Biblical Wisdom from Billy Graham About the Present and the End Times

***** This book was originally published as "Approaching Hoofbeats" in 1985. Then it was updated and revised as the first edition of "Storm Warning" in 1992. This current version is completely revised and updated to discuss and reflect upon current events and how they relate to the end times, to the four horsemen of Revelation, and to the Christian's life. It is interwoven with stories from Billy Graham's life and reflections upon world events that he has lived through, and as such, is unique. Billy Graham has lived a life and had a ministry that is unmatched; what he has to say is very important. I found myself wondering if this will be the last work that he will contribute--his last words, his last message. If it were, it would be a worthy work and a good message for all Christians to hear. Reading these reflections upon Scripture, history, and our times made me really think about how what is happening is a warning of a coming storm--the final storm. Billy Graham does not write to drum up fear, but to generate hope for those who trust in Christ for their salvation. "Lord, you are a shelter from the storm" (Isaiah 25:1,4) Billy Graham poignantly writes in the introduction, "I don't even recognize the world we live in today"; I expect many people feel this way. With all of the changes, he offers a way to make sense of what is happening by relating it to Scripture. One of my favorite quotes from the book is: "...we have exchanged the love of family and home for cyberfriends and living in constant motion that robs the soul from memories--and perhaps from that still, small voice that longs to be heard"--this is something that touched me deeply. This book would be of most interest to Christians and those with an interest in the Bible, especially in applying the Bible to current events. Highly recommended. *****

Well written book

I have been interested in the end times for as long as I can remember, and when I heard that Billy Graham was writing a book on this topic I was thrilled. Who better to teach you something, then the great Billy Graham? This updated and revised copy of Storm Warning really puts into perspective how close we are to the end. Graham shows how events today line up with the events predicted in the Bible to be the end times. He doesn't try to sugar coat the news; he gives it to you straight forward. Overall this was a great read, and keeps your attention the whole time.

Storm Warning

Storm Warning by Billy Graham immediately drew my attention, as I am interested in anything that has to do with the end times. As a huge fan of the Left Behind series, I was excited to read Billy Graham's take on the various Storms (not merely the storms that are found in nature) that are occurring in the world today and compare them to the book of Revelations. It's important to note that this book was originally published in 1992 but it has been updated to include some of the most concerning issues which occurred between 1992 and now such as Hurricane Katrina, the economic situation facing Americans, and the various terrorist events that have been occurring. It's interesting that many of the issues which were relevant to the apocalypse in the 90s have become that much more commonplace in the year 2010. I liked the personal aspects he put into the book such as his daughter's experience with a hurricane in Florida and his childhood relationship with storms when living on a farm. I found the four horseman explanations very interesting, as I never really studied them that in-depth, especially in relation to situations that are currently occurring. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I didn't feel as if the writing was difficult to comprehend, and I was very interested to hear how the times we are currently living in can relate to the book of Revelations. This was the first book I ever read by Billy Graham, and to be honest, I was a little nervous to read one of his books thinking the analysis would be hard for me to comprehend, but as I said before, I easily understood the concepts and enjoyed the book from start to finish. In the future, I will definitely be reading more of his works. A Strong Dose of Reality

We live in a broken and sinful world. The Bible states that all will be cleansed by a great apocalypse. Before this occurs, things will get steadily worse. Billy Graham pulls no punches as he connects the situation of our fallen world to end-time prophecies in Scripture, especially Revelation. The Enlightenment myth of endless progress is effectively challenged by Rev. Graham's writing. If we modern humans are proud of ourselves for our "progress," Rev. Graham's book will serve as an unwelcome but vitally necessary wake-up call. We should stop patting ourselves on the back and rather repent in sackcloth and ashes for such atrocities as "the abortion holocaust," as Rev. Graham titles one of the chapters in this book.
