Delightful!

This delightful love story is a wondeful mix of old fashioned charm and sassy wit. My teenage daughter and I both found this romantic tale to be highly satisfying and enjoyed all the allusions to the Hollywood classics, especially where a certain famous Mr. Grant was concerned. Kristin Billerbeck is one of my favorite for-fun authors and I think this one is her best yet!

New Growth

What intrigued me most about Sarah Claire leaving small-town Wyoming for Hollywood wasn't the it's-been-done hayseed chick in the big city thing--I couldn't wait to find out whether she'd immediately cave in and bail her alkie mother (who'd followed her to the city) out of jail again, like in the "old days." For me, the answer to whether or not Sarah could change old patterns and find new ways to deal with her mom would end up making all the difference in her blossoming romance in Hollywood. The ending surprised me with its grace-filled, redemptive quality. Sarah embraced growth--and not just of her hair, either. That growth allowed her to receive a gift she hadn't believed would ever be offered. Highly recommended!

Romantic Comedy all the way...

How Kristen Billerbeck actually made being the adult child of an alcohlic funny I'll never know! She also paints a true picture of Hollywood: beautiful beaches vs smoggy brown skies, beautiful people vs the homeless, Rodeo Drive shops vs second hand stores. Sarah Claire, hair dresser now hair designer experiences all with the attitude of a spunky kid. Its a fun romance with a true "feel good" ending.

Fabulous read!

I loved this book! Everything about it smacked of reality and it is so refreshing to read Christian chic lit that does not try to hide sexual tension and temptation (of any sort) under the rug. I've read Christian chic lit where the characters speak in Bible quotes to each other, and that is so far from the truth! This book tells it as it is-being a Christian is a constant battle with our fleshly temptations and we must forgive to move forward. Worth every penny and the two days it took to read!

Fresh and Fun Read

Sarah Claire has the opportunity to remake her life. She just didn't realize what was going to be involved when she left Sable, Wyoming for an exclusive Beverly Hills salon. Sarah has an abundant stash of emotional baggage that's accompanied her to Hollywood. Add a stylist who won't let her do more than clean toilets and empty trash, a cousin who's being over-protective, a mother who can't leave her alone, a best friend who's quite possibly lost her mind, and men suddenly taking notice of her, and Sarah's no longer sure where her life is headed. Then she gets the opportunity to break out and has to decide what really matters to her. This book explores the depths of Sarah's issues and needs while maintaining Kristin's trademark humor and color. I loved this book and enjoyed every moment of it.
