Emotionally riveting for an early 80s book

Granted that both stories had the typical Big Misunderstanding, serious lack of communication, & arrogant hero/submissive heroine that's so prevalent of 80s romance novels, these 2 stories were overall surprisingly pretty good. This is my 1st book by Joan Hohl & I like how her writing drew me to the characters & the outcome of their problems. I expected it to be a slow, eye-rolling read, knowing that the stories were written in the 80s. But I finished both stories in 1 night! It was emotionally riveting & I got hooked!
