New to Anya Bast

I received this book as a "free gift" from another book distributor. What a pleasant surprise. I have never read anything from this author and greatly enjoyed it as I read it in one night. I enjoyed the pacing, the plot and liked the characters. I was only a little disappointed in the fairly abrupt ending but that was OK. I was also surprised to learn this was a series of books and felt this could be read as a stand-alone book. I will add Anya Bast to my list of writers to look for when ordering in the future.

Very hot

This book is one very hot read. I couldn't stop reading this book until I finished it. A very good read. You will not be disappointed with this book.

Seasons of Pleasure Book 5

Moira lives alone near the town of New Ecasia in Nordan Territory. She is a direct descendant of the first magicked ones. Moira's magick gift is that of empathy, seeing into the past, the present, and sometimes the future. Recent bouts of severe headaches show her Lord Cyric, a man with evil eyes. She prays for guidance and her answers seem to point to another man Lord Dain d'Ange, "the mad Lord Dain of Aeoli", also descended from the first magicked ones. Lord Dain is an Aviat with the wings and the eyesight of an owl. Rumors are that a surge of his dark twisted magick caused all glass, windows and pottery to be shattered in his keep, along with the death of his wife, when he found her in bed with another man. Moira journeys to Lord Dain's keep where he refuses to see her, or even entertain her questions. She camps outside, and as winter approaches, she helps him hunt for food and they begin to talk. However, once Lord Dain hears her query about finding Lord Cyric, the man from his wife's bed, he is even more suspicious of her motives for seeking him out and avoids her again. Slowly Dain comes to know Moira, and they both succumb to their intense attraction. This begins a pattern of attraction and rejection based on Dain's insecurity and suspicions. At this point Moira is stranded for the rest of winter at Lord Dain's keep. When Dain's twin brother Killian comes home for the winter, he too desires Moira. A menage develops, yet Dain still pushes Moira away after the heat of passion in fear of his own powers, wanting to protect her. Moira has decisions to make about her future. Dain is a man dealing with self-doubt and a belief that no one should ever get near him. Killian is offering marriage with a home and children. In addition, Moira must complete her quest and get the answers she needs from Lord Cyric. Will Moira succeed in her quest for answers and love? Which twin will she choose? In Seasons of Pleasure - A Change of Season, Anya Bast has written an erotic story centering around three very intriguing characters. It is a roller coaster ride that I honestly found frustrating. Dain's hot-then-cold attitude dragged on and on. I felt sorry for Moira and the angst she was put through in this story. However, several scenes of menage-a-trois were very well done. I was interested in how the characters found their answers and their true heart's desire. I sincerely hope to see a sequel about the twin brother who did not get the girl in this story.
