More and More get fuzzy.

I adore the get fuzzy series. It doesn't run in our local paper so I have to buy the collections. It's wonderful. I love the intelligence and interaction of the characters. I've even got my six-year-old son hooked.

Dog and Cat Owners Prepare To HOWL!

Get Fuzzy is our favorite comic strip in our household. We have dogs and cats...one cat that has earned the new nickname of Bucky the Cat and one yellow Labrador who is definitely Satchel come to life! Non-pet owners will get a kick out of these great collections, but PET OWNERS, esp if you own a cat AND a dog, my best advice is Do Not Eat Or Drink While Reading...you'll ruin your Get Fuzzy Book for sure, or you may choke...either way no fun...otherwise ALL the Get Fuzzy Books are really fun...I've never laughed so hard in my life! If our cats and dogs COULD talk to us, I imagine it wouldn't be a lot different than the world created by the wonderful creator of the Get Fuzzy Comic Strips! GREAT PET OWNERS GIFT TOO!!!

You can food anything if you just eat it

I received this book in a package at camp, and i am sure that many people in my bunk will remember how I stayed up past midnight that night with a flashlight, laughing until I cried. This is saying something, because I never laugh unless it is really funny, eccentric, and just plain out-there. Get Fuzzy is all of the above. Most reviews of Get Fuzzy books, I have noticed, mention that they will appeal especially to animal lovers. While this is true, you don't need to own a cat to laugh at Bucky trying to film a "Cribs", in which he explains that his top drawer is where he keeps his pretty... excuse me, GANGSTA yarn. Satchel is also very funny, like in the series where he explains to Rob what varioous objects in the house are named (I especially liked "World B. Shiny", the TV's named.). Speaking of which, as the straight man, Rob isn't exactly dead weight. While providing an object for Bucky to annoy, he also puts his pets' strange comments in perspective, making them seem much more out-there and funny ("It's not exactly proper to make threats of murder and cannibalism in a thank you card, Bucky."). It's also worth noting that some of the strips, while not necessarily one-panels, have no pinchline, or the punchline isn't the funny part. Bucky's comments take care of that. Some laugh-out-loud strips and series are "You can wordify anything if you just verb it," "Chucky The Chimp," "Tickets to the zoo," "This ferret ate my baby"(a perfect example of the punchline not being the funny part. Bucky's picket sign is just too hilarious), "Can't we all just get a lawn", and pretty much anything that mentions Bucky's obsession with eating monkeys, especially the Anaheim Angels Rally Monkey. All in all, buy this book. You won't be sorry. (...)

A Get Fuzzy Reading Guide - Collections vs. Treasuries

I won't go into how fantastic this comic strip is, but it is easily my favorite comic strip of all time. :) For the uninitiated, there are eight collections so far and three treasuries. The fourth treasury is not yet released. Please keep in mind that each treasury is two collections put together, so as far as I know the treasuries are the same as two of the collections, except I believe the treasuries have the Sunday comics in color while the collections have them in black and white. In chronological order, the collections are: 1. The Dog is Not a Toy: House Rule #4 2. Fuzzy Logic: Get Fuzzy 2 3. The Get Fuzzy Experience 4. Blueprint for Disaster 5. Say Cheesy: A Get Fuzzy Collection 5 6. Scrum Bums 7. I'm Ready for My Movie Contract: A Get Fuzzy Collection 8. Take Our Cat, Please: A Get Fuzzy Collection The treasuries are: 1. Groovitude (encompassing collections 1 and 2). 2. Bucky Katt's Big Book of Fun (encompassing collections 3 and 4). 3. Loserpalooza (encompassing collections 5 and 6). 4. The Potpourrific Great Big Grab Bag of Get Fuzzy (encompassing collections 7 and 8). (not yet released - release date is currently 9/1/08) I can say that these comics are beyond hilarious, and I would highly recommend them to pet lovers/haters of all ages. :)

How To Eat A Monkey With A Spork

Like all the other "Get Fuzzy" books, "Say Cheesy" is a winner. Animal lovers the world over understand the essential and hilarious truths that Darby Conley has hit on through caricature in this strip. There are several themes to the strips in this book, of which the most prevalent and most amusing are Bucky's obsession with fighting Fungo the next-door ferret, and Bucky's other, even stranger, obsession with trying to eat a monkey (at one point he tries to get Rob to make him "Gibbon a L'Orange" for his birthday dinner.) This is a great book that is guaranteed to make you laugh, especially if you are an animal lover like me.
