A must-have in our household

This book is a great tool to introduce biblical character training to young children. Ken Taylor addresses character issues such as honesty, politeness, and kindness to animals in a very kid-friendly way. There is a picture, story, prayer, and Bible verse to go along with each theme, and some questions to discuss with your child. The illustrations are cute and the book as a whole is a big favorite with both the parents and children in our house. It's one thing to tell your child that they need to be patient, for example, and another to show them what being patient looks like. This book does a great job of illustrating Christian virtues and making them accessible to young children. A wonderful book!

Highly Recommend: Great Springboard!

This book is a great springboard for discussing moral lessons with a young child. At 4 years old, my son is too young to discuss "moral issues" as we adults think of them, but he is old enough to be taught and to understand "Right" and "Wrong." I belive it is my job to teach him these lessons, and this book is a fantastic tool for that. We use it as a bedtime devotional. There is just one lesson per page, accompanied by a colorful picture that provides a good visual tie-in of the lesson and keeps my kids involved in the story (I ask them to point out things or identify things in the picture. Actually, many of the stories ask them to do this, too). My favorite part is the simple prayer and Bible verse that accompanies each little story. Because of the Bible verse, we're able to tie in the "Right" or "Wrong" choices with what the Bible says. That way, my kids don't just learn a bunch of Good/Bad Behaviors, but they learn the Bible verse supporting it. Plus, if you have your Bible with you, instead of just reading the verse written in the book, you can actually open your real Bible and look up the verse. I LOVE this because it's modeling to my kids to turn to the Bible to find the answers and guidance we need. Each story includes simple questions to go with the lesson, but I usually add to the questions as the questions are very simple (but that's nice for younger kids!). A fun bonus is the little ladybugs on each page...we begin each lesson by looking for the hidden ladybugs and counting them.

Great for Christian Living

This is a wonderful way for Christian children to remember how to do the right thing. For those of you who march to a different divine drummer, try either Bobtales Bedtime Stories or Proud to be Good! Music Casette for a more humanistic approach to character education. No matter which beat you prefer - reminding your child how to make the right choices is essential in today's crazy world!

Right Choices

I teach a Bible class to preschoolers and I purchased this book as a guide for my "how to be good lessons," which I use in conjuction with the Bible lessons. I start each lesson with a "how to be good lesson" found in Right Choices and then proceed to the Bible lesson. The structure of the book is great - one subject per story, simple questions to ask the children, a prayer and a scripture. The children grasp the concepts and are quickly learning the basics of how God would have us live.

Great for family devotions with very young children.

We picked up this book while looking for a guide for our family devotions with our three year old. The structure of the book is great - one subject per story, simple questions for you to ask your child, a prayer and a scripture. Our three year old grasps the concepts quickly and is learning the basics of how God would have us live. We have enjoyed the book as parents and our son asks to have devotional time and brings us the book.
