Love the 'Revolve' Books...perfect for Teens

A great find

My kids found out about this Bible at school. They are not allowed to take bibles to school and this looks like a magazine.....what a great idea.

What are you on about???

This is an excellent book which has hit its target incredibly well. A bible teens will actually read! To the author of 'Please not another one' I would like to point out that girls are not so stupid they need their own bible, there is also A BOYS VERSION. Who's a moron now? And complaining about the message being changed as its translated? How many times has it already been translated. If you think that changes the message maybe you shouldnt be reading any sort of bible because incase you dont remember, Jesus was not american or indeed english for that matter. HE DIDNT SPEAK ENGLISH. Its been translated already to make it relevant to people who speak english so whats the harm in making it relevant to teenagers???

What do you want in a Bible, dang it?!?

I love how all the adults love to wax poetically about how this is a piece of trash and how it degrades girls. Newsflash, people. Girls are degraded on a daily basis by everyone. Jesus (and I'm assuming you're interested in this Bible because you're a christian) met people where they were, and talked to them in a language they all understood. That's why he talked in Aramaic and not Hebrew to them, so they could understand how much God loved them. Girls? What do your girls talk about? How fat do I look. How good do I look. How do I get him to like me. My parents hate me. Why do I not feel good enough. My friends all turned their back on me. What should I do if I feel pressured into a sexual situation. Why doesn't anyone love me? That's what are thinking. Trust me, I hear it everyday. So you give them a Bible, and yeah, it looks like a magazine. Why? Because they READ magazines, they want authenticity - they want something they can understand. Hey, you adults have bought all kinds of crap marketed at you. "How to raise a Christian Teen". "Read the Bible like a Novel". Why? Because you don't understand it half the time, and none of you have gotten through 1 Chronicles without falling asleep. Be truthful. Teens spend more time on myspace.com and read each other's blogs more than they spend at the mall. So ask your girls. Don't write a review unless you hand them a copy and ask them what they think. Don't talk to them about how you feel. Really, don't offer your "insight". Just hand it over and walk away. Then you can post a review about how stupid you think this Bible is. Me? I did. All 100 girls in my youth group thought it was awesome to finally have the whole Bible instead of just the new testament.

This is WONDERFUL! I gave it to the girls in my youth group and they went crazy! Revolve 2 makes the Bible approachable and helps girls make it a part of their lives. THis is not an intimidating Bible, but it is THE REAL Bible. It has the entire New Testament with fun side bars and features that help teens apply the Bible to their daily life! Thank you Thomas Nelson for bringing out another edition! (Refuel is for teen guys and it's great too!)

Awesome book

When you receive a gift, the wrapping may not be as important as the gift itself, but it sure can enhance the joy you receive from the gift. You know, I wish that my dad's knowledge of Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew had passed to me genetically; however it did not. Looking at a Greek New Testament would pretty much be a waste of time for me. So basically any Bible that I read in the English language will be either a translation or a paraphrase. The New Century Version is a translation from a group of editors that I know and trust. Did you note that the entire New Testament text is given in this magazine? The fact that it comes in a great package with lots of helpful tidbits of knowledge that the girls need to know anyway, well, that is just icing on the proverbial cake. Remember Smead, love is not easily offended. Try not to create condescension where none was intended. Quite frankly if it would get my children to read their Bibles I would dress up in a clown suit, stand on my head, blow bubbles and whistle. Fortunately, because these publishers have provided this magazine, I don't have to.
