REALLY enjoyed it!!! Highly recommended.

The second of the half-satyr brothers, Raine, travels to Venice to locate the second half-faerie bride, Jordan. He's very controlled due to an unhappy boyhood, and we get to see some of how he found out he was a satyr. He grew up with human parents and found out during his teens he wasn't fully human. This was interesting and made me warm to him, even though he's a controlled kind of guy. Jordan's not what he expected and she'd living under false pretenses which place her in danger. I really felt for Jordan's plight. She's a sympathetic character, with a mom who's less than perfect (an understatement). Raine immediately recognizes Jordan for exactly who and what she is and is drawn to her. When they meet for a second time on a Venice street near the famous Rialto bridge, they embark on a journey across the lagoon in a gondola in the first of numerous erotic scenes between them. This is a particularly well done scene. I also enjoyed the erotic Calling scene later, in which Jordan and Raine are involved with some male non-human characters that threaten Jordan. And the vat scene. Furthering the plot of the plague that threatens the Satyr vineyard in Tuscany, Jordan helps come up with a plan. The idea doesn't really come from her, but rather is channeled through her. The ending of this book was just perfect for Raine and Jordan. And I really liked the fact that there's a message of tolerance and acceptance for sexual differences and that throughout the book, and that Raine showed acceptance for Jordan's differences. Very cool. Another well written book by Elizabeth Amber. Very different and erotic. Loved it!!!

Steamy-hot, well written

A brave and beautiful story. Not to mention a sizzling hot one! I was completely surprised and riveted by Jordan and I loved that Raine immediately accepts her for who she is. A truly well written erotic romance with all the elements I like to read. The 2nd book in the Lords of Satyr series continues with middle brother Raine. He's controlled and a workaholic. Jordan's totally not what he expected in a wife. But they fit. She's in danger and he's determined to protect her. He whisks her off to his secluded estate and we get to visit with Nicholas and Jane again briefly. Trouble follows them and when Raine almost loses her, he realizes he loves her. The epilogue scene between them was lovely. So right for them. I love and recommend it, but if you're easily shocked, it may not be for you. Most of the sex scenes are between Raine and Jordan, and I'm glad of that. I like to see the story and the sex mainly revolve around the two main characters. However, as far as the sex goes, be aware there is one side character who does a short m/m scene. There's a ménage scene with Jordan, Raine, and paranormal humanlike characters. Highly recommended. Cannot wait for Lyon!

Raine- A Joyfully Recommended Title

The three Satyr brothers, Nicholas, Raine and Lyon, are heirs to a successful winery in Tuscany. The three brothers are not what they appear to be, however. They are half-human, half-Satyrs, born from the ElseWorld and living in the EarthWorld. One day they receive a letter from King Feydon telling them he is dying. The kings informs them he sired three daughters who are half-faerie, and the brothers must find and marry them, to protect them. Reluctant at first, the brothers decide that they must do their duty. Nicholas found his Jane, and now Raine is in search of his bride. He goes to Venice to look for her, and is planning to attend a lecture on the dreaded phylloxera, which destroys vineyards. On his way to the lecture, though, he inadvertently stumbles into a lecture hall where a different kind of talk is taking place, a scientific study of La Maschera, a hermaphrodite. Jordan Cietta was born into a wealthy family. She was also born a hermaphrodite. In order to inherit the family fortune, Jordan's mother, Signora Celia Cietta, and her physician, Signore Salerno Signora strike a deal. In exchange for him proclaiming Jordan a male, and keeping silent, he will be allowed to display her to the medical community once a year, on her birthday. She wears a mask, however, to protect her identity. When Raine sees Jordan, he's intrigued. When he meets her later in the streets of Venice, and takes her to his lodgings, he realizes she is the one he is searching for. But things aren't easy for the two. Jordan, who longs to live life as a woman, won't allow herself to be controlled by anyone. Raine, who had a disastrous first marriage, knows he must protect Jordan, but refuses to love her. He takes her to his home in Tuscany, where they fall under each other's spell. But other forces are at work, and Raine must fight to keep Jordan safe, and to keep her in his arms. Provocative and beautifully crafted, Raine is a fantastical trip that is part fantasy, part historical. Ms. Amber takes her readers on a trip back to the land of Satyr, where things are not always as they seem, and everything has more than a touch of magic. I loved revisiting this world, and once again fell in love with the characters, both old and new. Both Raine and Jordan must fight against prior experiences, which have left bad tastes in their mouths, to find their destinies. The fact that both these characters are strong-willed and must learn from each other made this book fascinating to me. Both Raine and Jordan are dark characters who have learned to live with the hands life has dealt them. Watching them learn to love each other was a true joy. Wow! Pushing the Envelope!

The is the second book in a series involving the ElseWorld of Fae and our human EarthWorld. If you have read the first Lords of Satyr book, I don't need to give the back story; if you haven't, then do so. Anyway, I knew when I read the first Lords of Satyr book, Nicholas's story, that this would be a keeper series, but I never guessed Elizabeth Amber would push the erotic envelope with quite such gusto into the second episode. The second brother, Raine, didn't make too much of an impression on me in the first book, but he truly shows that intensity and erotic passion and, yes, decency, in his quest for his half-fey bride who was born of a human woman sired by the king of ElseWorld as her father. The genetic combination must have been a doozy as Jorden is defnitely a girl of many parts. Rather than the human and witchy villains as in Nicholas' story, Raine and his designated bride must face her human antagonists AND a lord of ElseWorld who has his own designs on Jordan. With the threat of dream control and capture, Jordan has to find her way to Raine through both the world of the body and the mind. But, beware, this book is graphically and descriptive erotic and extremely, almost disturbingly, HOT. The author has created a heroine so much unlike any about whom I've read so far in any erotica or romance (naw, this can't be classified as 'romance', it is EROTICA) books that the story borders on the uncomfortable for me, but that is a good thing. A unique individual in the passion and erotica world, Jordan made me think about my own biases and impulses, and wonder about the many wonderful variations of people in our own world. The author will have a big burden to follow up with Lyon, the third brother's quest in the next book. Am waiting anxiously for that to appear.

As King Feydon lay on his deathbed, he penned a missive to the Satyr brothers, beseeching them to find the three daughters the Faery King sired with human women many years ago. The three brothers must each marry one of the half-Faery women in order to protect them from those who would use them to destroy the mortal realm. But Fate stepped in to ensure that each brother finds his perfect match in the woman they've been compelled to guard. Even Raine finds love with his intended bride, Jordan, regardless that he swore never to love or trust a women again after his faithless ex-wife attempted to ruin his family with rumors of the Satyr brothers' practices behind closed doors. The protection spells the Satyr brothers weave for their mates require the bond of matrimony to be at their strongest, but Jordan is unlike any woman Raine has met before, and convincing her to marry him is easier said than done. I ended my review of Elizabeth Amber's previous book in this series, Nicholas: The Lords of Satyr, saying that it left me wanting the next book in the series. I can avow with no small certainty that Raine: The Lords of Satyr not only lived up to my expectations, but managed to surprise me in ways I could never have imagined! As with her sister from the first novel in this saga, Jordan has lived a life of deceit, hiding the abnormalities that her Faery blood wrought in her body. Those abnormalities threaten everything she and her mother have, and have caused her a life filled with pain. When she meets Raine, her life is changed for the better. Although she still harbors secrets, she is able to live her life with him more freely than she ever though possible. The joy she feels at the acceptance Raine offers her is infectious, and the reader can't help but be caught up in her happiness, even while outside forces are determined to topple that precarious state. Raine is as conflicted as an intriguing hero can be, but knows from the start how he feels for Jordan. Still, while he shows unconditional acceptance for who she is, he cannot easily admit his love for her, nor can he bring himself to trust her. Having been burned once, his trust is not easily given, especially when giving it erroneously has the potential of harming his brothers along with himself. Of course, when Raine finally falls, he falls hard, much to this reader's utter delight! I should warn that the story does contain some male/male content, as well as a brief ménage scene. While neither is gratuitous and fits the story very well, readers who are sensitive to such content should be aware before they begin reading Raine: The Lords of Satyr. In addition, there is some unusual content that is best suited for more adventurous readers (like me! J) Raine and Jordan's romance was a wonderful edition in this fascinating trilogy. With the surprises Amber has given us in this book, I am bubbling over with curiosity and excitement to see what she has in store for us in the third
