Excellent Research on a Difficult Subject

The author has done an excellent research job in the complex area of historical prophecies. The roots are explained in Shaman art which combines music and trances. The Scriptures find that soothsaying is an abomination. The historical struggle between Gog and Magog is set forth after the 1000 year reign of the saints. The Temple of Pachacamac is shown in all of its Peruvian glory circa 200 BC. The 3rd part of the Fatima Revelation is described in the near assassination of Pope John Paul II. This event happened exactly 64 years after Our Lady of Fatima first appeared. Nostradamus predicted the rise and fall of the British Empire. Cayce predicted that the continent of Atlantis would surface off the coast of the Bahamas. The left paw of the Sphinx at Gaza is said to contain records of a lost continent. Jules Verne described man's ventures into outer space in an 1865 novel. Ultimately, we will reach the moon and the other planets as easily as a sail from NY to Liverpool, England. On 3-15-44 BCE, Julius Caesar was warned not to attend a meeting of the Senate. The author explains how dreams can combine the past and the future. An interesting explanation was provided for the Nostradamus Method. The seer studied in secret. He rested on a bronze tripod. There were thin flames proximate to the tripod. Prophecies were made with a wand in hand. Water was sprinkled on the hem of the garment with fear throughout the lower torso and a quivering voice. The work is fantastic. Some of the stories are well known to enthusiasts of prophecy.

Fascinating text, beautiful illustrations

This beautifully illustrated book investigates prophecy down the ages. Chapter One deals with, among others, the roots of prophecy in an informative introduction, the Old Testament prophets, prophecies on the Antichrist and the coming of the Messiah, the Apocalypse of St. John, the Oracle of Delphi, the Sibyls, the predictions of St Malachi about the popes, Joan of Arc and her voices, Joseph Smith, Native American prophets and the secrets of Fatima.Chapter Two deals with dreams and premonitions in Mesopotamia, Egypt and amongst the Aztecs, plus famous dreams and visions including that of the sinking of the Titanic. Systems of divination and how they work are next discussed, with chapters on the ancient roots of astrology, the Druids, Tarot, African and Mesoamerican systems, scrying and the I Ching.Seers and clairvoyants like the Templars, Merlin, Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are covered, whilst the final chapter looks at modern trends like the rise of Futurology and at specific figures who were ahead of their time in their vision of the future, like Leonardo da Vinci, Jules Verne and H G Wells. The beautiful illustrations include reproductions of paintings and gripping photographs, and the book concludes with a bibliography and index.
