More amazing detail than I could have imagined.

In spite of being quite knowledgeable about today's technology, integrated circuits in particular, I was completely taken away by the details dug up to reveal just how "precision" was the essential foundation for everything which we have achieved today. "The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation" had been on the top of my list of favorites, until "The Perfectionists" took over that ranking.
