Sex - Violence - Bad Language - Vodoo - and God????

The Preacher Series is by far the coolest group of graphic novels I have ever read. This book isn't the best of the series, but it is awesome all on it's own. The story of Cassidy finding another like himself makes the book alone. The tale of him schooling another vampire makes the book, and of course, sets up later action. Still though, who would believe Arseface could make it as a singer? Another Sanjaya..... And what ever happened to the cool forewords by the cool people? I know there are some interesting semi-celebs out there who read Preacher. The whole series is awesome - Check it out

Stellar Series

The Preacher series is a "must have" for any collector of stories who likes a little extreme in their fantasy. Some of the greatest lines and characters are put forth by the incredible team of Ennis and Dillon. If one suspends disbelief on one's own feelings about God and the devil, one can enjoy lightheartedly this tale of servitude...or something.

It keeps getting better and better.

How can you not love a collection that begins with an older vampire corrupting a younger one who is basically a "wannabe" and has learned everything he knows about being a vampire from Mary Shelly?As with the previous books, new colorful characters are encountered on the mission. Faces from previous editions return, too, when you weren't expecting them too. Beware.I've enjoyed this series since the start but each one gets better and better.

The Demented Mr. Ennis

Some people have criticized this volume as being a bit sub-par for the series. I haven't read 6-9 yet, and while this isn't quite at the level of the first 3, it is a most welcome return to our main heroes after Vol. 4's focus on origin stories. The main criticism that anyone could have about this collection is the general weakness of the antagonists. And yes, it is true, a bunch of gothic wankers aren't quite as threatening as the Saint of Killers or the Grail, they aren't the focus of these issues. The focus is on Cassidy, or rather, Cassidy's degrading relationship with Tulip. We get a few glimpses into a slightly more turbulent and shady time in Cassidy's past, and start to get the idea that perhaps he isn't the stand-up guy that he seems to be. It is Cassidy that puts them Tulip and Jesse at risk, it is Cassidy that nearly gets them all killed, and it is the Cassidy that may cause the fractioning of this adventuring trio and lead them into even greater danger than before. To me, this volume seems to have laid the groundwork for the rest of the series, and as such, it was very intriguing. And come on, the gothic wankers("Les Enfants du Sang") are pretty darn entertaining. Who doesn't love to laugh at a bunch of pretentious psuedo-intellectuals and faux-artitses!

Ann Rice, deflowed, degraded and smacked up to the eyeballs!

Dixie Fried finds our friends back on the south road after a lot of big hugs and bad love in the Big Apple. heading straight for whole lot of gun toting, malbrouo smoking, throat choking trouble in New Orleans, not to mention a whole shitload of Cass's bad blood past. It cocks it's leg at the traditional Vampyre fare. Clever pardoy, I think not, more total whiskey drenched black humour, thats just got to be bad for your health. Dixie Fried does, as is the norm for Preacher, answer many of the devillishly hounding questions left by the previous book. A superbly crafted item of fiction and another big gleeming piece of the puzzle. Live it, breathe it, love it, devour it, but rest assured you will be left yet again with an empty belly
