Great idea!

My 5 year old son is a puzzle and pirate freak! This book is a great mesh of the two. The pieces stay in well and we don't worry about taking it on trips with us so he can have a portable puzzle. Great for long drives!

jigsaw puzzle meets seek and find

What a great addition to our libary! I picked this up at a book party. My 3yo son LOVES anything pirates so this seemed like a good choice. Each page is made of sturdy board book material and contains a jigsaw puzzle on one page and a blub about the picture on the adjacent page, including identifying items to seek and find within the puzzle. The seek and find is also educational and teaches names of pirate themed items (like, the sword is called a cutlass, the skull and crossbones is the jolly roger... etc) The puzzle pieces are sturdy, colorful, and uniquely shaped (on each page the center puzzle piece is shaped like something from the page's theme. For example, on one page, the center puzzle piece is parrot shaped). We can spend hours pouring over this book. On each page, we take some time to do the seek and find and learn the names of the objects, then take the puzzle apart and put it together. Underneath the puzzle, the same picture is replicated, which makes it easier for little ones to find where each piece goes. The product is rated at 4 years and up, but with adult help there is a lot you can do for kids as young as 3. This is definitely a product a child can grow into. This is a FANTASTIC gift item and I intend to purchase this one and others in the series to give as gifts at the many classmates' birthday parties we have to attend this year.
