Seeing God as My Refuge

This is a great book. Joan Esherick has used the imagery of a medieval fortress to draw me step-by-step into the heart of God--a heart that wants to be a refuge for me.I especially appreciate Joan's vulnerability in sharing her personal examples--times that show how she has realized her need for God and how He has been a refuge for her. These examples draw me in. I also love the many Bible references that show me how much God cares.At the end of each chapter are questions that helped me focus on the contents and summarize them in my mind. I can also see them being great for using this book as a small-group study. The "framework" of a medieval fortress helps pull the whole book together.
