Wonderful read

This is the first novel I've read written by Ms Hitchcock and I must say, it's fascinating. The pace of the story is excellent, never too slow and not too fast either. It has plenty of social intrigue, murder, mayhem, and obsession to keep you riveted. It is quite the perfect choice to read on a cold night.

One Dangerous Lady: A novel

Fun, fun, fun, beach reading. Page turner galore. Light, but has all the elements of a great summer novel: murder, mistery, sex, scandal, intrigue, $$$...

Fun Read

I really enjoyed this book. It was alot of fun about rich and powerful people in New York society. This book is a sequel to Social Crimes which was also enjoyable. I read this after reading a very good, extremely sad book, Shadow of the Wind. One Dangerous Lady was just the book I needed after reading such a "heavy" book.

Jo Slater is a modern Becky Sharp

In another page turning book, this writer has combined the delicious details of upper-class life--the yachts, the parties, the clothes, the customs--with tremendous suspense and one of the greatest women characters since Thackeray. Jo Slater is as unscrupulous and devious as a woman can be, but somehow it is impossible not to cheer her on. Captivating, thrilling and impossible to put down.

A Great Summer Read!

This book was so much fun and so easy to read. I couldn't put it down. I think I read it in three sittings -- would have been two sittings if I hadn't had to go pick up kids from little league. The hijinx of all levels of society -- jealousy, revenge, sex games, murder -- are somehow much more fascinating to read about in the billionaire set! Dripping with blood AND diamonds is, after all, a much more fun read than just plain dripping with blood. Anybody can do that. The author knows the New York social scene inside and out. She has a light touch and great characters. I really loved the prequel to this book, it was called SOCIAL CRIMES. People should read that one first and then this one. They are both really fabulous and would take hardly any time at the beach.
