On My Own: The Ultimate How-To Guide For Young Adults by Sally Taylor is such a comprehensive youth reference on "how to make it in the world." I wish such a book had existed when I launched out on my own. With the challenges facing today's young adults, the book and CD reference can make a real difference in the lives of its readers. Parents would do well by leaving this one on the coffee table!

Covering the effective management of one's time, to paying bills, pursuing a career, responsible sexuality, taking care of one's health and one's pets, and so much more, On My Own is an excellent, thorough, "user friendly" guidebook and highly recommended for older teens and young adults contemplating living on their own.
