Will fry your hair off

Very very hot book that has a real believable love story and plot and tons of sex that's done well. The sex is mostly between Nicholas and Jane and that's where the love story is. There are two HOT menage scenes in there--both involving NIcholas and Jane and other guys. I loved them and they fit into the story line and are not gratuitous, but I suggest you stay away if menage offends you. Good to read a female villain for a change--she's got her own f/f hot thing going with her pals, which was pretty riveting in a freaky sort of way. That's a minor part though--like I said, the story is mostly a love story between Nicholas and Jane. Nicholas is historical, which I love, so you have to like that and be pretty open minded about sex I think. This is not your average erotic romance. It has more heart and weight, meaning a more substantial story/setting. It's not perfect, but pretty damn close. On my keeper shelf to be read again. Definitely!!!

a potent mythology and sex mix that is right on target

Nicholas is not simply a handsome man, a rich man. He is a half-human handsome man! His other side is a satyr, a creature that is given to sexual excesses that are near animalistic. He and his brothers give themselves over to rituals that slake their lust, which takes place once a month at their villa in Tuscany, Italy. Most people only see the three men as exceedingly attractive males, little guessing the dark secret they protect on their vast estate. Everything is just the way they want it, until a messenger comes. Actually, it's more than a message - it's a demand the three brothers locate and marry three very specific women who are half-faerie and half-human. The women in question are not fully aware of their nature, and all three are in danger. They need a protector. From time's beginning the Satyrs protect the Faeries, as human women cannot bare a Satyr's child, only Faerie's can. In order to insure the continued existence of their line, the brothers must marry and produce an heir. Thus, Nicholas sets out to find Jane. Jane is becoming aware of her fey abilities, yet cannot control them, and remains totally unaware she is the target of true evil. From the start, Nicholas and Jane are attracted to each other, but their natures push against their desires, both carnal and spiritual. The loosely base mythology tale is the launching pad for the highly charged, sensual novel that is a cut above general erotica. They character of Jane and Nicholas are very well drawn, coming alive for the reader as real people. Amber delivers hot sexual encounters, but as an integral part of the plot, not for pushing-buttons sake. An excellent debut, that leaves you eager for the story of the next two brothers. Absolutely loved it !!!

Nicholas is one of the most sexually intriguing characters I've ever come across. He's one of those romantic heroes I wish were real and in love/lust with me. Nicholas and Jane marry, but don't start off in love or even in lust. The first lovemaking scene between them is one of the best I've ever read because I feel like I'm inside Jane's head and body as she experiences sex for the first time, sees an aroused male body for the first time, and isn't sure what to do with her feelings as this magnificent alpha male visits her bed. All the book's love/sex scenes seemed unusually believable and real to me. This author is able to get into the characters skin and head more than most. When Nicholas eventually becomes completely enthralled with Jane and she with him, I cared about them by then and was touched by their growing happiness together as man and wife. The sexual tension along the way and the lovemaking between them is beyond hot. Not only that, it's not the same old thing. The villain and plot aren't the same old thing either. I've read many romances, both erotic and traditional, and this one stood out as something fresh. (One little teeny thing - there's mistake on page 145 -- an extra word in the 6th line. Who cares? This is a still great five-star-worthy book! LOVED IT !!

Nicholas: The Lords of Satyr

The three Satyr brothers, Nicholas, Raine and Lyon, are heirs to a successful winery in Tuscany. The brothers are not what they appear to be, however. They are half-human, half-Satyrs, born from the ElseWorld and living in the EarthWorld. One day they receive a letter from King Feydon telling them that he is dying. The King informs them that he sired three daughters who are half faerie, and that the brothers must find them and marry them in order to protect them. Reluctant at first, the brothers decide that they must do their duty. Nicholas goes in search of his bride while Raine and Lyon stay and take care of the winery. Jane Cova knows that she is different. She's able to heal plants, and can feel things that others are feeling. And she has these strange things that are growing from her shoulders. She seeks a way to cure her "abnormalities," but so far has been unsuccessful. When Nicholas Satyr asks for her hand, Jane is stunned. Why would this gorgeous, successful man want to marry her? She sees it as a way out of her house, where her father and her aunt Izabel rule. Maybe, just maybe, she can find a way to cure her problems. Then, she can leave her husband and then she and her sister, Emma, can disappear from their family and live alone. When Jane arrives on Satyr land, she realizes that not everything is as it seems. She also realizes that being different is not a bad thing. Nicholas kept me captivated from the first page to the last. Nicholas and Jane fascinated me, separately and together. I felt for both characters. Nicholas is strong and loyal. Jane is the same way. Both of them have things they are keeping from the other, but they find themselves drawn to each other. Together they find that they can love, and live as they want, and not as others want them to. The sexual aspects of this book are highly erotic, and kept me spellbound and wanting more. Ms. Amber has created highly provocative scenes that made me shiver. Elizabeth Amber has drawn a world that pulls you in and keeps hold of your heart and mind. Nicholas is a definite Joyfully Reviewed Recommended Read for me. Amelia Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed
