A Must Read for Investors

Working for an organization which represents individual shareholders, "New Markets, New Strategies" is the most highly recommended book on our list. Mr. Trennert uses easy to understand language to put forward a framework for investing utlizing the best techniques of the past while introducing new concepts to represent today's market conditions. In specific, his thorough review of the impact public policy decisions have on investing is something rarely discussed but so important for investors to understand. Mr. Trennert further explains recent changes in market conditions such as the impact of hedge funds. Within the conxtet of these new market conditions, Trennert provides a framework for successful investing in what he calls today's "winner take all market environment;" provides an analysis of the drivers that will move markets in the coming decade; and picks 50 stocks that are poised to outperform the market and explains why. Review of "New Markets, New Strategies"

Undoubtedly this book is one of the best sources of information for the non-professional investor during a turbulent period for all investors. It provides all the information one needs to bring them up to speed with regard to the recent fluctuations in the market. For the serious investor it provides the tools required to adjust to a changing market landscape. There is a list of key points at the conclusion of each chapter further assisting the reader in drawing the information together. Jason Trennert has performed an excellent job and his book is highly recommended.

Old Standbys for the New Markets

We all remember the turbulant times the market has gone through in recent times. Indeed who can forget the dot.coms. But where are we now? Jason Tennent, an investment strategist of international fame, has written this book which talks about using the old fashioned basics combined with new analysis, strategies and techniques. He reports on finding types of companies that stand poised to outperform markets in both the short and long term. As a contrarian, he gives some reasons and examples of why the crowd is almost always wrong. And finally he discusses the importance of value in companies. Remember the dot.coms again. What value was there in some of those highly promoted stocks. The book provides an excellent explanation of what's happened in the market over the past few years. this is the kind of information that you can't get yourself, you have to wait until books like this one come out. It's delightful reading with some very good annecdotes to illustrate his points, and provides a very fresh view of the world of investing.

Jason Trennert's book is a very readable guide for anybody with a nickel in a stock or mutual fund. Like Peter Lynch, Warren Buffet, and Ben Graham Jason Trennert believes investors should get the fundamentals straight and not be distracted by the hype of investing. In the end, investing is a lot like baseball - a game of inches. Teams that consistently get the fundamentals right, wind up winners.
