Excellent Introduction to the Bible

I had a very hard time searching for a good children's Bible for my 3 year old daughter. Most good children's bible are meant for ages 4 and above, which really means around 8 year old reading level. While these books were very nice, they were not made to hold the attention of a preschooler. The other books I found were made for babies and really didn't teach much about the Bible. They had very few stories and were to simple to hold a preschooler's interest. Then I found this one. This Bible is perfect for preschoolers and beginning readers. There are lots of Bible stories in it for both the new and old testament. The stories are short, but they still keep their meaning. The pictures are beautiful and appropriate for young children. Each story ends with a question which a parent can use with older children to begin a discussion of the lessons learned through the reading. As a Catholic parent, I was very happy to find a good children's Bible to teach my child about our faith. I also have Protestant friends who love this Bible and would like to get one for their own children. They have also looked for a good children's Bible for small children and have not found a better book than this one. It is just a well made children's Bible, period! While I love this book as a parent, the true value of this book can be seen in how much my daughter loves it. She asks me to read it every night. Sometimes I have found myself having to read the entire book to her in one night because she wants me to keep reading. She has learned so much! She knows so many names and stories, she even requests some stories every now and then! She takes this book to Mass every Sunday, and we read it together before the Mass starts. Although she won't be able to start her religious education until she starts grade school, I am confident that she is getting a solid introduction to Christian/Catholic teachings even at this early age. I highly recommend this children's Bible to any Christian parent with a preschooler who is looking for an age appropriate way to teach their faith to their child.
