A decent reference and learning tool for BEGINNERS...

Overall a good book for BEGINNERS. There are a LOT of pictures and graphics inside which reduce the 1000+ pages to only about 300 pages of actual information. If you already know anything at all about Office 97, you might want to get a slightly more advanced book. Perhaps one of the intermediate ones of the series. A few small symantic errors in a couple of the labs. However, overall, it is a great book for people new to Office 97.

Excellent for Introductory Students

This laboratory book is excellent for introductory students. Re the review that thought it was for extremely slow learners, I disagree. It IS tedious for those who know the ropes, but for introductory students, who spend a lot of time "lost", this is just the book for them. William A. Bradnan, Hilton Head Island SC

Down to Earth Language and Concepts

I took a class with this book as the instructional manual. I found it very easy to understand and follow. Language was basic and it really helped to improve my skills and my understanding of some of the concepts that seemed complicated to me before. This is a great at home/work resource book and I highly recommend it.

Great teaching tool

Students at the high school level and in adult education courses did very well with this book. Its strongest feature is how it integrates various projects together. Its weakest is that we bought the paperback version -- it is really not sturdy enough to be used repeatedly with students without falling apart. I'd recommend getting a hard cover copy of the book.

Excellent tool for learning common business applications

This text was used in connection with a computer applications class I took in Spring 1998. It strongest feature involves the integration of applications available under MS Office 97 - Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Outlook. In other words, one learns how to be more productive by making these tools work together. Good graphics and format. Easy to understand and apply.
