Traces the history of the centuries-long effort of philanthropists, scientists, and consumers to make milk a reliably pure and safe product. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This history of milk and pasturization is very interesting and thorough. It was both informative and accessible. I was surprised to learn how deadly milk used to be before pasturization and the ignorance of people to the concepts of germs and bacteria. If you want to know more about milk and how it came to be part of our daily lives, this is a good book to read.
