Great for Trading Spaces fans: funky designs; cool projects

I agree totally with the previous reviewer -- although the designs are way too "out there" for me to ever use, the projects are very cool. In fact, for anyone reading this who's a fan of either of the shows "Trading Spaces" (U.S.) or "Changing Rooms (U.K.), the projects reminded me of the ingenuinity and coolness of the projects done on those two shows. But unlike the shows, the book details step-by-step how to do them, complete with shopping lists for each one. I figured it was probably worth the price of the book if I did even one of the projects, and I was right...and plan to do at least a couple more! Buy this book only if you 1) are able to see beyond the somewhat bizarre overall colors/themes shown in the example rooms and are able to apply the cool projects to your own taste and style (by using colors, fabrics etc. that YOU love), or 2) if you are into funky, break-all-the-rules-even-the-ones-that-don't-exist style.
Cool Projects

This is more of a project book than a makeover book. I didn't buy this book for myself, I bought it for a good friend who is much more "funky" and colourful in her home. Alot of the projects are only useful if you really like that specific look. But there are a few projects that anyone can do in their house, like storage cubes and a beanbag chair cover is really versatile (if you have a beanbag chair) because you can choose whatever fabric works with your decor. The projects are easy to do, and shown step-by-step and all designs have tracers in the back (for example there is a gilded table runner, with goldfish and seaweed, and in the back there is a tracer so if you can't draw well freehand, you can copy using this). It also has outside projects, which are my favorite, like a zen table (the one with sand that you draw designs in) and how to make one of those table fountains. So its really cool for someone who likes making things and wants to spend little money making their place look cooler.
