Living the Posh Mom Life: The Fun, Fabulous and Fashionable Guide to Motherhood

The posh mom is a new breed of mother, one who's doing it all with style, smarts, and seemingly without effort. But contrary to popular belief, posh is not about spending cash and being perfect. No, a posh mom is just put-together, and anybody in any tax bracket can do it. From the founders of www.poshmom.com, Living the Posh Mom Life serves up info geared for this modern mom's ways (juggling commuting and carpooling, me-time and mommy-and-me-time),...

Lighten up ladies!

I admit it I enjoy this book. If you want advice on how to parent than get a different book, if your looking for a magic pill to make yourself what they coin as "posh" get a different book. Honestly if your reading these reviews and have picked up the book than your at least interested in the idea of the words posh and mom together. I feel so sorry for who ever left the review that said "posh mom" is an oxymoron, only if you let it be honey! And yes women are naturally judgemental being the mom that does nothing with herself and shows up at school drop off looking like she got dragged through the ringer backwards, frankly is far more embarrassing for kids than having the mom who actually puts forth an effort not to look bedraggled and sloppy! I am glad Nebens and Negrin are putting out there another way for mothers to present themselves. I feel sorry for the many moms out there who have let themselves go, and then as a pathetic excuse for their own lapse of self appreciation call us others who take care of ourselves and take pride in how we look and *gasp* how our confident cupcakes look, snobs or stuck up or materialistic. I am a fantastic sahm (have MBA am not currently using) to 3 children and darn it I look good and feel great about myself too is that a crime?

Fun and fabulous, indeed

Kudos for Nebens and Negrin who understand that moms of this generation matter as women! Like they say, no more sabbaticals from what she was into before she had kids. To me, this book describes so many of the moms I see these days. I would love to think that my friends and myself are full-fledged members of this posh mom movement the authors talk about and I appreciate the camaraderie between moms they try to generate. While they talk about being in the know, they also talk a lot about being confident and devoted moms and about being so appreciative about the gift of motherhood. The anecdotes are funny and so true to life. They really get it. And what I love is that they're re-coining the word posh when they remind us we can still care about who we are while being the best moms we can be but posh doesn't have to be perfect. "Posh is not about being elegant or high falutin. And the only thing it has in common with perfect is the first letter--posh is not perfect, it's just put together." And they mean on the inside as well as the out. I found the tips helpful and plentiful and real--some new ideas and others I had tabled, which they reminded me about and gave license not to feel guilty about taking time out for me. Great, easy, fun summer read.

A lot of fun!

This book is fun with lots of quick and easy tips as well as some great product ideas that can help the on the go mom. From the founders of the web-page with the same name, these moms have written a book that is easy to read and fun for women of all ages. The lady who gave it 1 star needs to lighten up - this book is not meant to re-invent the wheel, just to consolidate a lot of great ideas and help moms, with busy lives, to feel and look great. With the crazy schedule moms lead today, it is nice to find a book that can help them with those "quick bits of must-haves, of-the-moments and splurges..." I really enjoyed it and so will you.
