Great Daily Devotional

I use this book everyday. It is especially good for journaling. For each day, there are short readings from the Old Testament and New Testament of the New American Bible (the official text used by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops). The readings are grouped around a monthly and weekly theme. For instance, the month of January is "Knowing God." The readings are grouped around themes such as "Who is God?", "Our Creator and Father", "Jesus as Savior", "The Holy Spirit", and "God's Plan for His Creation." If you like to meditate and/or journal, this book is perfect because it let's you think about how the scriptures follow the themes rather than reading someone else's point of view on them. This book is also great if you use the passages of scripture to think about the themes for the rest of the day. A great book for reading a bit of the Bible each day.
