Disappointed!

Omg if I could give this a 0 I would! I've never received a book from this site that was this poorly checked before sending it out. It has clearly been peed on by a cat. It smells horrendous and it's still damp! 😫 I've never thrown out a book in my life! But I have to there is no saving it! It also came in a bag with two other books that I'm trying to air out because they smell alittle but aren't wet. I was really looking forward to reading this book.

An awesome cozy read!

I loved Childs' first series and found myself drawn right into this. The characters are great and the plot fun. I also loved the atmosphere of the scrapbooking shop! Can't wait for more in this series!

Enjoyable read!

As an avid scrapbooker and fan of New Orleans, I was delighted to learn about this book. I enjoyed it immensely. The mystery was good; the tone was fun. I hope there are many more books in this series.

A Great Mystery

I really love this book. It kept me quessing as to who the murderer is. I really felt like I was in New Orleans and experiencing Mardis Gras. Laura Childs is very accurate in her discription of what traditions make Mardis Gras. The king cake especially. I have never done scrapbooking before and this book has made me want to start. For me the story flowed. I have read her other series, The Tea Shop Mysteries and am looking forward to reading more of both series.

well-written cozy

Tucked away on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans is a cute little scrapbooking store called Memory Mine owned by Carmela Bertrand, an astute business person but unlucky in love. Her husband Shamus dumped her six months ago, claiming he had to find himself. Carmela moved from their fancy home to a funky apartment located on top of a voodoo store.Carmela and friends are taking in one of the Mardi Gras parades when a float stops in front of them. Powerful Jimmy Early Clayton is dead and an autopsy reveals he died from an overdose of ketamine. Shamus was seen having an argument with him and had access to the float and Jimmy Lee's stash of liquor. A vicious rumor campaign starts stating that Shamus is the killer. Although Carmela is estranged from him, she doesn't think her husband is a murderer. She sets out to prove it, but places her life in danger from the killer who doesn't want Carmela putting the pieces of the puzzle together.Laura Childs, the author of the Teashop mysteries, has written the first book in what looks to be a great new series. The descriptions of the food and sights of New Orleans make the readers feel as if they were visiting and enjoying Mardi Gras. The heroine is plucky and likable, enjoying her crafts store and her many friends instead of pining away for the husband she still loves. KEEPSAKE CRIMES is a well-written cozy with enough possible suspects to prevent the audience from guessing who the killer really is.Harriet Klausner

Scrapbookers will love this new mystery ...

Laura Child's "Keepsake Memories" was THE ultimate book for me! I've been a scrapbooker for 7 years and adore "charming gourmet mysteries". It was like meeting a new friend, as I got to know Carmela Bertrand, owner of the Memory Mine Scrapbooking store in a quaint section of New Orleans. She was a delightful character, and offered tips and discussed new products, as she reluntantly helped to solve a murder mystery. (I think Laura must be "one of us" as she captured the obsession we all seem to have with this hobby!) Can't wait to read Carmelals next adventure!
