An earlier reviewer suggested that this is a "bad" book with "terribl" (sic) pictures. I disagree. Axelrod offers insights that are useful for aquariums of all sizes, not just extremely large ones, and his insights are valuable. While the photos are not quite as GLOSSY as one can find in some books, the photos are just fine; they are clear and they nicely illustrate information contained in the text. As a newcomer to aquariums, I recently have looked at many books on fishkeeping, and while this book is not the very last word on every aspect of the hobby (i.e., it does not try to be exhaustively comprehensive), it is easily one of the most interesting to read. If you contemplate having an aquarium of larger fish, you will enjoy this book.
