joyride will take you on the ride of your life

Joyride By Amy Ehrlich Fourteen year old Nina lives with her mom Joyce in Montpelier, Vermont. Nina and Joyce move a lot and Nina hasn't been in one place for more than a year yet. She and Joyce have many memories from the past; however, they have many memories to come in the future. Joyride is a fiction book. It captured my mind; everything was so descriptive and detailed. I think the two main characters were described very well. My mind pictured everything in this book as places and people I have seen before. Once I read the first few pages, I was glued to the book until it was finished. This book was telling a story of truth and of love, for it was also pulling in amazement and anger when Nina had the worst of places lived and people met such as: seeing people she wanted to meet, seeing places she didn't want to be in. After Nina figures out the secret Joyce has held in for fourteen years, she is frozen, horrified. How could Joyce do that. I agreed that a story can contain so much tension. When I read Joyride, everything was as if it was really happening to me. This book is amazing and fantastic.

Joyride was a joyride...

There could not be a better fitting title for this book Joyride because the book itself was a joyride. The authors use of foreshadowing really, in my opinion, was the best characteristic of this book. It added a hint of suspision to the book. This book was definitley a page turner. I could not set it down until the book was finished. I was able to be a part of the wonderful experience that Joyce and Nina were on, and even though it was only a book, that experience is one that I will treausre forever. --by A.R

Running From Something?

Joyride is an awesome book! It's about a girl named Nina Lewis, who has lived with her mom Joyce, in a bunch of different states, including Canada. But Nina, who's 14, wants to settle down now. She's sick of leaving old friends behind, without saying good-bye. Then Nina and Joyce move to Venice, California, where Joyce once lived. Joyce promises that they'll stay in Venice for a long time. Then Nina starts finding clues that lead to Joyce's true identity. They move once again, and that's when Nina finds out the truth, during a emotion-filled climax. Probably not a good choice for light reading, but definitely a good book!

Joyride

This book is great for those who don't like their stories told quick and short. This book is about a 13 year old girls life on the road with her mother, whom she calls Joyce. Never staying in one part of the country more than a few months Nina is longing for the feeling of home and friendship. Although she has no problem gaining friends she often has to leave without saying good bye. When Nina is 14 Joyce promises that they will stay in Venice, California forever. This quickly changes when heart stopping events unfold. Try and unravel the mystery behind Joyce before Nina can. You should definately read this book. It's a great summer read and will keep you glued till the end.
