ministered to my heart

I very much enjoy Max Lucado's writing style. He writes with a flair that the reader can picture in his mind what it is he is reading. He takes real situations and compares it to what Jesus went through. If you know what it means to be caught in life's storms, if you've ever ridden the roller coaster of sorrow and celebration, if you've ever wondered if God in heaven can relate to you on earth, then read and re-read this book -- it will encourage you Combining scripture with humor and real life situations, Max offers instructions and inspiration and shows us the secret of transforming panic into peace, stress into serenity, and chaos into control

Buy it and save it for a bad day.

"In the Eye of the Storm" is a look at what Lucado calls the hardest day in Jesus' life. Like many of Lucado's books, the style is more light devotional than heavy theology. Combining Biblical passages with modern-day examples, Lucado demonstrates that Jesus experienced the gamut of human emotion and thus knows how we feel during our roughest times.I began reading the book on what had been an awful day for me, and I wound up reading the entire thing before the day ended. One story in particular, concerning a villager and his "wait and see" approach to life, has been a comfort to me ever since I read it. For anyone who needs a lift on a bad day, this book earns a hearty recommendation from me.

Max Lucado has a real passion for relating to Jesus life

In The Eye Of The Storm by Max Lucado reads a lot like a devotional. With it's 28 chapters and conclusion, it makes a great devotional. The questions that are designated for each chapter are great for reflecting back on what you read and help to give an understanding of what it was like in a day in the life of Jesus. Max Lucado writes with such eloquence when writing of Jesus. His passion for relating Jesus life to the every day positive and negative situations that we are faced with, makes this book a read for the heart.

Couldn't Put It Down

This is the first Max Lucado book that I have read, and I can gladly say, the first of many more to come. I am 16, and normally don't have time to read much. I read this book in 2 days. I just could not put it down. I can't wait to start Just Like Jesus by Max Lucado that I just bought.

We can know He also knows

here is the best work from a wordsmith of the highest rank. God has used max to show us that when, not if, "storms" come into our lives, there is a Savior who hurts along with us, relating His experience with ours. we are able to see along with max how a real Jesus dealt with real issues. storms that seem like they will destroy. we are able to see that the confidence He had can be ours also. we can find a calmness inside the middle of the storm, its eye. we are able to see a picture of a God who is bigger than the "storm" over it, seeing that we grow in ways we never dreamed and learn to trust in Him through it all. in the end, peace...that His children are safe and He is in total control. i have a standing promise... if you buy this book and do not like it... i will buy it from you. it is that powerful!
