Encouraged to Encourage

This really opened my eyes to the power a woman has over the men in her life. It never works to tell a man what he should do in a given situation (unless he asks) but what does work, is genuine supportiveness which focuses on his general qualities of intelligence, wisdom, strength and courage. When you buck those up, he will be well able to make the right decisions in particular matters. It may be more time efficient to discuss the negative attributes of your man since talking about all his good points would take all day (!) but you need to make the time and do it often and for free. You'll find that a good seed sown will reap a bumper crop if you have patience. There is some mention of a man's low self-esteem in here which would really be better understood as low "self-confidence." Self-confidence is when he knows and accepts his strengths and weaknesses but chooses to push ahead anyway. Self-esteem is just ego-centrism - a god-complex looking for worshipers - and we certainly don't want to encourage THAT in our men.

Life Changing REad

"I don't even like being around you anymore." This was what my husband said to me across the couch that sent me searching for an answer to fix our marriage. What I discovered was a book that helped change me - how I talk to my husband, father, brothers and sons. I HIGHLY recommend it for any woman with a man in her life!

A Christian book on understanding the opposite sex

This was a good book on understanding men. However, seemed most of the information is available elsewhere. Just presented with a Christian perspective to give it a different slant. Still a good book, and a good read to understanding men.
