Learn about some hot, interesting and odd facts about NASCAR in this book!

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR is hot. It's been the hottest sport since the early 1990s. It all began in 1948 with William "Big Bill" France. Racing once was done on small dirt tracks, but the popularity signaled that it was time to organize and Bill got the better racers together and headed to Daytona. "Stockcar" is another term for a regular passenger car. You can't just go out and buy a NASCAR racer, but you could buy one that might look like one. Each car has to be built exactly the same as there are very rigid standards. You'll find out all the specs in this book and you can dream about racing one of these gems. You'll be able to take a close look at these cars in this book. The photographs are great! Did you know that the headlights on these cars are just decals? Cars aren't the only things to learn about. You'll learn about teamwork and the talented pit crews every winning NASCAR team needs. There are the oldies in here like Richard Petty, "The King," and odd guys like Tim Flock who "sometimes drove with a pet monkey named Jocko Flocko." In the last chapter you can read about NASCAR's best: Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kasey Kahne and a handful of women drivers. This book is packed with information and great photographs. There are Wild Facts, sidebars, a glossary, index and additional recommended reading and internet sources. You may think you know everything about NASCAR vehicles, but where is the driver's name painted on the car? If you know that fact, you're one of the hottest in the trivia department!
