Invest in purchasing it. Read it. Study it. Immediately apply it to your life! Exceptional!

I heard about this book through a friend who offered me bits and pieces of its content - which immediately caught my attention. If you are a person or in a place in your life floundering your life's true purpose, this book is for you. If you are a person in a successful career or living the good life, and feel something is seriously missing - this book is for you. If you are a person who is struggling with who you are or why your life is taking a spiral downturn, this book is for you. "Holy Discontent" will offer you an opportunity to look at who you are, why you were specifically created in the time and space you are currently living in - and poke at your heart for what your personal "Holy Discontent" is. The book is an easy read (as far as ease of reading a page goes), though is an exceptional book to help you really evaluate who you are and what your purpose it. Hybels offers real life examples and gives the book's reader an opportunity to learn from others' paths and passions - hopefully to support your journey to become all you were intended to be. If you're ready to take your life to the next level, are sick of where you are currently at, or ready to be all you were created to be - this is the book that can support your journey. Here's to your personal, Holy Discontent... Bev

It Only Takes a Spark

When it comes to articulating a passion, few do it better than Bill Hybels. It was with anticipation that I ordered Holy Discontent - I needed to hear someone like Hybels both give me direction and inspire me to fuel the fire. The book is a good combination of personal stories from Bill's life, stories and teachings from Scripture, and stories of some of my favorite characters - Bono, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., Bob Pierce. I read through the book quickly, mostly because I was very eager to find out what Hybel's was suggesting. I'm planning on reading it through again more slowly in order to absorb and reflect on what my Holy Discontent is, and how to take action on it.

Life Changing

I read this book in the summer of 2007... and still refer to it regularly when faced with issues of the world. It has changed the way I view serving others, career options and what direction I hope the Lord leads me in. I've purchased copies for several friends and have used this book - to find my firestorm of frustration - and let God use that to set me into motion for Him. Definitely well written, easy to read and hard to put down! I think every Christian should read this book. 2 thumbs up!

Light Read Think Book

Bill Hybels is not C.S. Lewis, Donald Miller, or Richard Foster when it comes to writing in ways that take you to unexplored areas of thought. But he does make me think. "Why do people do what they do?" is the motivation behind Holy Discontent, Fueling the Fire That Ignites Personal Vision. That's my kind of question. He offers some amazing stories of individuals who have devoted their lives to a cause. Then he brings it around to look at our own lives in a way that says "why aren't you doing something?" I recommend this book for all those out there who can't figure out your passion; what it is that would bring true meaning and purpose to your life. Pick it up, read through it in a few hours then spend days pondering the significance of Hybels perspective of those things which you just "can't stands no more." It just might change your life - and maybe even the world - forever.

Unleash your personal God given vision.

This book was one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. If you are looking for a thick theological book, this is not it. Hybels does use scripture throughout, but this is more of an inspirational writing. He uses his own personal story, the stories of well known leaders (Mother Teresa, Bono, Martin Luther King Jr...), and the lives of a few people from the Bible. Although this book is relevant to people of any age, I would highly urge high school seniors and college students to read this book. I purchased two additional copies to give to people like this in my life. If you are looking for a push to take a step out and fulfill the thing you know you were created to do or you are looking for direction in finding that thing you were created for - this is a MUST READ! I will always look back on this book as a milestone in my journey of fulfilling God's leading in my life.
