After Reading The Other Reviews, I Am Not Sure If This Is A Non-Fiction Book, Or A Historical Novel. Does Anybody Have Any Input On This?

Read it again.

In my opinion none of the other reviewers who unfavorably reviewed the book read it carefully. In any case, they didn't address the problem posed by Mr. Kilzer, namely who had daily and intimate access to the discussions carried on in Hitler's HQ for more than 3 years? Only Bormann with his stenographers qualifies. Are they afraid of the implications of the revelation that Stalin may have a hand in the Holocaust?

A MAGNIFICANT BOOK ON ESPIONAGE

Martin Borman was Hitler's secretary. Under Hitler, he lead the Nazi Party. He supervised the Holocaust and the death of millions of Jews, Gypsies, Ukranians and others. Hitler wrote a will in the last days of the war and appointed Borman as it's Executor. Yet, Borman was a Soveit spy throughout the war, often delivering Nazi operational plans and orders to Stalin before the appropriate German Field Marshal received them. Two-time Pulitzer Prize winning author, Louis Kilzer, proves this thesis beyond any reasonable doubt.I have read many books of World War II and written one. The secret game behind the fighting, espionage, has always fascinated me. This book tells it all. The reader will find a new surprise at almost every turn of the page. Kilzer has done a wonderful job of research, detective work, deduction and drawing conclusions. In my opinion, he deserves a third Pulitzer.

An involving, informative addition to World War II history.

This history of Martin Bormann and the defeat of the Reich charts the activities of a high-level traitor within Hitler's regime. Soviet agent 'Werther' was the most devastating traitor in history: this examines the facts and identifies Martin Bormann, Hitler's second in command, as 'Werther'. An involving addition to WW2 history.

Looking Forward to the Second Time

This book is a rare gem as far as history books go. It has all of the excitement of a novel by Ludlum, Higgins or LeCarre`, but the catch is this is fact, not fiction. Mr. Kilzer has done an excellent job in the telling of Hitler's foremost traitor, "Werther", and his impact on Hitler's Germany. I highly recommend this book. It is sure to please those who love World War II history as well as those who love a good spy story.

Hitler's Traitor

Kizer's book gives a historical account of the Russian spy ring operating in Germany during WWII, the main players and their motivations. He describes how the master spy 'Werther', operating within the OKW of Germany, gave Russia the keys to successfully defeat the Nazi's in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk which were the turning points of the war. Kizer lets you know early on who he suspects Werther is and then carefully builds his case based upon the historical record and actual transcripts from the spy. The book is a real page-turner that reads like a mystery novel. You get a feel for how a historian has to pick up the fragments of a story and put them together into a readable context. This is the best historical novel I've read this year.
