Beautiful artwork, fun read

I love how Joanne Oppenheim chooses the best and most unique artists to illustrate her "have you seen" series. The bugs are each made from paper cutouts. Each page is a piece of art, realistic also. And combined with the whimsical poetry, this book is such a find!

Amazing illustrations!

The text of this book is accessible, smooth and rhythmic. The illustrations though are astounding! My three and half year old does get a bit bored with it but she is out of the target age range. Each page is fun to look at, fun to read and there is even a challenging "bug search" challenge in the back to encourage you to comb through the pictures more carefully. I'll be looking for more books with Ron Broda's illustrations/sculptures.
